Red Bull Air Race to be cancelled this year
The National Transport Authority decided: they not support the holding of the Red Bull Air Race event in Hungary. The will not give a temporary permit for the usage of the airspace.
The decision is justified because the event has a public policy, public security and fire security risk. According to the authority the air show’s indirect security costs exceeds the cost of other similar events many times.
The question is; did the Ombudsman and the authority dedicated enough time to consider that the event provides entertainment for many people, and Hungary expected economic benefits, from the world event – reports Népszabadság Online.
