Milk and poultry prices going in opposite directions
In November 2016 agricultural production prices decreased by 5.5 percent from the level of November 2015 – reported the Central Statistical Office (KSH). This drop was the result of vegetable product prices falling by 11 percent and livestock/products of animal origin prices improving by 5.1 percent from the base period level. Since July milk’s purchasing price has been growing, while that of poultry has been reducing. In November 2016 milk’s purchasing price was HUF 87/litre and broiler chicken cost HUF 241/kg.
