The construction of Lidl Hungary’s largest logistics center to date has begun
The construction of Lidl Hungary’s fifth logistics center, the largest in our country so far, has begun in Kiskunfélegyháza. The investment with a floor area of more than 83,000 m2 will be realized from HUF 50 billion and the facility will create more than 400 new jobs for people living in the Kiskunság region. The cornerstone of the new warehouse complex was laid by dr. Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Territorial Development, representatives of Lidl Hungary and the contractor Market Építő Zrt., as well as József Csányi, mayor of Kiskunfélegyháza, laid it down in a ceremonial setting.
After landscaping, the construction of Lidl Hungary’s fifth logistics center in Kiskunfélegyháza, one of the largest in terms of the parent company’s European network, has officially begun. The investment with a floor area of more than 83,000 m2 and a total area of nearly 12 football pitches is expected to last until October 2026. The warehouse complex, which operates with the most modern picking technology, will serve 60-65 stores according to the plans.
“Today we not only laid the foundation stone of a building, but the pledge of future development, which will benefit our customers, partners and future employees. Our goal is to be among the first to contribute to the further development of the country as one of the flagships of the Hungarian economy, and to be able to serve the stores and thus our customers even more efficiently and professionally. As the ninth largest employer in Hungary, Lidl Hungary provides competitive wages to nearly 10,000 people. This number will continue to grow, as with the investment we will offer more than 400 people living in the Kiskunság region new job opportunities, and thus a secure livelihood and a predictable future.”
– highlighted Zita Szlavikovics, president of Lidl Hungary’s board, in her speech at the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone of the logistics center.
