The sugar beet processing campaign has started in Kaposvár
The 128th sugar beet processing campaign started at the sugar factory of Magyar Cukor Zrt. in Kaposvár on Friday.
Kovács Gergely, the company’s sales and marketing director, said at the event: the only sugar factory in Hungary plans to process an average of 7,200 tons of sugar beet per day for 80 days from October 6, with 235 permanent and 45-50 temporary workers.
Half of the harvested sugar beets arrive to Kaposvár by road and rail, he added. (MTI)
