A global map of 20,000 bee species around the world has been completed
A global map showing the distribution of 20,000 bee species around the world has been drawn up by Singaporean and Chinese researchers who say their work will help insect conservation efforts.
Bee populations are under increasing pressure due to the loss of their natural habitats and the use of insecticides. Although certain groups, such as bumblebees, have now been thoroughly studied by researchers, science knows little most of the bee species, more than 96 percent of them – BBC’s news portal wrote.
