This year’s #vadateszem campaign has launched
The campaign to promote and boost sales of game meat was launched on Tuesday. During the third campaign, those interested can now taste special game dishes in more than 70 restaurants and hotels, but the organizers expect additional catering establishments to join – this was announced at the campaign’s announcement in Budapest on Tuesday.
At the press conference, Zoltán Kovács, State Secretary for International Communication and Relations and Editor-in-Chief of Nimród Vadászújság, said:
Hungarian game meat consumption is extremely low, averaging 10-15 per capita per year in recent years. was around decagrams, although game meat is a recommended type of meat in terms of its enjoyment and nutritional value, as well as its effect on health.
Increasing consumption is being helped with campaigns, an important goal is that in addition to the 65-70 thousand Hungarian hunters and their family members, Hungarian consumers will also encounter the offer in a wider circle – he indicated.
The gastronomic offer made from game meat appearing in restaurants can help interested parties to look for game meat in stores, which is affordable in terms of price-value and is one of the healthiest types of meat – the Secretary of State drew attention to it.
István Asztalos, president of the Étrend Hungarian Chefs Association, explained:
The #vadateszem campaign serves a dual purpose, encouraging domestic game meat consumption and boosting the turnover of restaurants.
The program runs from November 18 to December 21, and consumers can easily find the restaurants participating in the campaign on the www.vadateszem.hu website using a map search engine.
Any catering unit that undertakes to offer at least one game dish during the campaign period can join the campaign.
There is no cost to join, and the free appearance in the map search engine is an opportunity to attract new guests and offer new flavors to their existing clientele

Ákos Csókay, Secretary General of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said at the press conference, among other things, that the November goose days and Christmas Between the months of 2018 and 2019, restaurant and shop traffic peaks, so it is important that consumers encounter Hungarian game meat in restaurants and shops during this period.
