A record number of more than 200 restaurants nationwide are participating in the spring National Restaurant Week event. The event, which now has a decade-long history, is a good opportunity for those interested to visit restaurants with exclusive offerings, but pay a discounted, fixed price for selected culinary delights. The quality of the event is well demonstrated by the fact that there are 14 Michelin-recommended restaurants among the participants, as well as several that are among the 100 best restaurants in Hungary according to renowned gastronomic publications.

The participating restaurants create 3-course menus especially for the occasion, which they offer at fixed prices. The menu items are offered for 6,900 forints in the TOP category, 8,900 forints in the Premium category, and 10,900 forints in the Exclusive category, including service charge. Some restaurants also offer a wider selection for a favorable, additional surcharge for those who want to make the most of this opportunity.

The ingredients used in the menu represent the highest quality of gastronomy and also feature real specialties: lamb, wild boar, Angus beef, tenderloin or picanha for meat lovers, swordfish, sea bass, octopus, scallops or sturgeon for seafood enthusiasts. The wealth of dishes also gives vegetarians or those suffering from food allergies plenty of choice. We can also find dishes on the menu such as goat cheese panna cotta, cognac cherry soup, borscht soup or various, even meat-free Neapolitan pizzas. Guests can choose – drawing from the traditions of Hungarian cuisine – original Gundel pancakes; the famous French culinary dish, Burgundy beef; or exotic Moroccan lamb shank, Japanese sushi specialties, or smoky BBQ dishes popular in the American tradition. Among the desserts offered this year, the popular but not yet tried Dubai chocolate dessert cannot be left out.
