Production has started at Magna’s new Vecsés plant – the investment will create hundreds of jobs

The Hungarian automotive industry has reached a new milestone: the Canadian Magna International Inc. has officially started production at its Vecsés factory, which serves the strategic expansion of the company’s European production network. The investment will initially create 240, later 300 new jobs and strengthen Hungary’s role on the continent’s automotive map.

The new, modern plant of Magna Body & Chassis Hungary Kft. will produce body components and chassis systems for the largest German automakers. The opening of the factory was attended by, among others, François Lafrenière, Canadian Ambassador to Hungary, Dr. Illés Boglárka, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Luis Melloni, Managing Director of Magna in Hungary, who highlighted:
“The opening of the Vecsés plant is an important step in Magna’s regional growth. The team working here contributes to supplying European car manufacturers with the most modern technologies in a sustainable production environment.”

The support of the Hungarian Government and the professional contribution of HAD Group, which designed the factory building in the spirit of sustainability – for example by recycling the heat generated during production – played a key role in the implementation of the development.

The launch of the Vecsés plant further strengthens the company’s European presence and commitment to sustainable mobility.
