The pink truck, which draws attention to the fight against breast cancer, has started on Hungarian roads
On October 9, the pink truck of the Waberer’s Group and Volvo Hungária Kft., which draws attention to the importance of the fight against breast cancer, started on Hungarian roads. The QR code on the side of the truck directs those interested to a website where messages from people who have recovered from the disease give strength to those currently affected. In addition to the representatives of the two companies, presenter Csilla Tatár and influencers Url Izabella and Bakos Kitti were also present, supporting the goal of making this case reach as wide a circle as possible.
Breast cancer is one of the most common female cancers worldwide, and in Hungary, according to official statistics, the situation is worsening. The fight against breast cancer is a particularly important social issue, and the month dedicated to the fight against the disease is October, therefore, on the initiative of Volvo Hungária Kft., the Waberer’s Group, which provides complex logistics services, draws attention to this topic with an unusual promotion.
The pink truck also started on Hungarian roads
On October 9, the pink truck started on Hungarian roads, which carries out the transports with a female driver. The QR code on the vehicle directs readers to a dedicated page where they can read messages from people recovering from breast cancer, thereby supporting those who are currently battling the disease. Csilla Tatár, who has dealt with the topic before, took part in the event organized when the truck started, and in order to attract the attention of the younger age group, influencers Url Izabella and Bakos Kitti also contributed to reach the widest possible audience. This is particularly important because there are more and more misconceptions circulating on the Internet that specifically hinder the fight against breast cancer. Dr. Tímea Nagy, radiologist specialist at the Wáberer Medical Center, stated the following regarding these misconceptions:
“Women are often scared of mammography, as it often appears on the Internet that since it is an X-ray examination, it is the cause of breast cancer in many women. However, many people do not know that the radiation from this examination is roughly equivalent to the background radiation of a two-hour flight. So the ladies are not exposed to more radiation than during a flight from Budapest to Rome. A mammogram is recommended from the age of 35, for which it is worth asking a general practitioner for a referral so that this test can be performed. Under the age of 35, we perform a breast ultrasound examination for the first time, at this age we only perform a mammogram if we notice any abnormalities”.
The Waberer’s Group and Volvo Hungária Kft. consider it important to focus on the topic precisely because of such misconceptions, since it can cost lives if the changes are only noticed late, after the complaints appear.
