In-store cash withdrawals have started
On July 1st, the possibility to withdraw cash in conjunction with the purchase opened, which allows customers to withdraw cash up to two times a month, for a total amount not exceeding HUF 40,000. The option is available at merchants and service providers that provide cash-back services. – announced the Ministry of Economic Development in its announcement sent to MTI.
After this cash withdrawal, the customer’s bank may not charge any fees or costs. The option will be available at retailers and service providers providing cash-back services, for which the relevant retailers and service providers need to contact the service provider operating the POS terminal. It was noted that where the bank card payment option is already available, the new service can be introduced quickly.
State Secretary for Public Administration Túri Anikó was quoted in connection with the measure, who emphasized that the cash-back service complements the free cash withdrawal option that is still in effect, so thanks to the government decision, the amount of cash that can be withdrawn free of charge will ultimately increase from HUF 150,000 to HUF 190,000.
