The Ecumenical Aid Organization has started its Advent fundraising
The Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Organization launched its traditional Advent fundraiser on Tuesday in the Groupama Arena, where well-known volunteers, employees, and representatives of corporate partners decorated the gingerbread hearts that have become the symbol of the collection.
Kristóf Gáncs, the executive director of the aid organization, said at the event: to help their year-round work, they launched Food, Home, Chance! fundraising with the motto, this cooperation makes it possible for the aid organization to be able to help those in need not only at Christmas, but throughout the year by giving them food, a home and a chance.
Referring to the collection’s motto, he said: every year, 300,000 portions of food are distributed to the needy, 300 families who have lost their homes are provided with safe shelter, and 3,000 needy children are helped to catch up throughout the year.
He added: the aid organization is present throughout the country, with more than 50 institutions and more than a hundred services helping those in need 365 days a year.
The aid organization announces the Advent fundraiser with the same objectives from year to year: in addition to wanting to make the holidays more beautiful for as many families as possible with food aid packages, hot meal distributions, fire pits, and Christmas children’s programs, the main goal is that their colleagues can be there for the needy all year round and those in trouble through their social institutions and opportunity-creating programs.
The fundraiser, launched for the 29th time this year, can be supported on the website www.segelyszervezt.hu, and by dialing the donation line 1353 with HUF 500 per call or SMS.
