The government accepted MTÜ’s proposal – the decree amending NTAK data provision was published
The decree of the Hungarian Government has been published, the obligation to provide data to the National Tourist Information Center (NTAK) for catering shops using online cash registers and tourist attractions that can be visited with tickets will be phased in at the suggestion of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ). According to the amendment, the provision of NTAK data will be mandatory for catering businesses and tourist attractions with a net sales of over HUF 100 million from July 1, 2023, and service providers that do not reach a net sales of HUF 12 million are exempt from the obligation.
As of July 1, only those operators of catering shops and tourist attractions specified in the law are obliged to transmit traffic statistics data to the NTAK, whose net sales in 2022 from catering or ticket sales exceeded HUF 100 million. It is important that the revenues of stores belonging to the same service provider do not need to be taken into account when determining sales revenue. Tourist enterprises can fulfill this obligation through their own catering or ticket management software certified for NTAK data provision.
“The majority of these businesses still use catering or ticket management software for sales. Therefore, for them, the mandatory data provision starting on July 1 does not mean a change in the daily business process. The NTAK data provision process takes place automatically, so it does not cause additional work for service providers. Thanks to the postponement, tens of thousands of tourism businesses have another six months to prepare properly. The phased introduction has also proven to be successful in the case of accommodation in the past”
– emphasized Anikó Suhajda-Molnár, MTÜ tourism’s deputy general manager responsible for strategic implementation.
