Albert Heijn’s new food waste prevention programme
Dutch retailer Albert Heijn expects to save 4.5 million kilograms of food by launching a new in-store food waste prevention programme, called AH Overblijver. This features products with an approaching expiration date that are left over at the end of the day – these are offered to customers at reduced prices. Customers can reserve and buy AH Overblijver packages via the AH app, in all Dutch Albert Heijn stores.
