From the point of view of food chain safety, this summer’s experiences are favorable
The summer seasonal food chain inspection was successfully completed. During the two-month series of inspections, the food chain supervision specialists examined around 1,200 units and almost 1,500 product batches in dozens of target areas. The overwhelmingly positive results, as well as the discovered errors, clearly demonstrate the success and necessity of the work for food safety.
Focusing on one major target area and its product range, it was ordered from June 14 by dr.Márton Nobilis, the state secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy, conducted this summer’s seasonal inspection. The official action, which covered most of the summer, was carried out by Nébih and experts from the county government offices and district offices under the direction of the National Food Chain Safety Office.
The inspection series focused on popular product ranges and popular locations during the season. The inspectors examined, among other things, summer camps, festivals, and restaurants around Lake Balaton and Lake Tisza. Among the target areas were beach buffets, street food and tented fan zones set up for the Football EC. The inspectors also inspected grilled cheeses, alcoholic beverages, plant protection products, as well as preparations for cats against external parasites. The regular operation of primary producers and the distribution of watermelons, which are considered to be the hit product of the season, could not be left out, and in the summer heat, the experts also paid close attention to live animal shipments.
