NAK announces digitalization competition for food producers and retailers
The National Chamber of Agriculture, with the professional support of the National Technology Platform Association, is announcing a competition for the most innovative processors. The aim of the competition is to present and recognize digitalization solutions implemented in the food chain.
Digitalization today not only represents a competitive advantage, but is also a basic condition for the efficient operation and security of supply of the domestic food chain. Data-driven, integrated and automated management of production, logistics and commercial processes is increasingly important for rapid response, quality assurance and sustainable operation. The use of digital solutions contributes to improving product quality, traceability, reducing losses and energy consumption, and strengthening consumer trust.
The aim of the call is to recognize food industry and commercial enterprises that have already implemented digitalization technologies that are working and bringing measurable results. Applicants can present developments that have improved efficiency, profitability, logistics performance, inventory management, decision support or customer satisfaction, among others.
The competition is open to medium-sized and large companies in Hungary that are involved in food or beverage production or food trade. The competition is held in two main categories: the Smart Factory Award for food manufacturers and the Smart Trade Award for food traders. A total of three “champions” will be announced in the categories.
The applications will be evaluated in two rounds. In the first round, the quantifiable results achieved through digitalization are examined, and in the second phase, the presented solutions are checked during on-site professional validation.
The application deadline is June 30, 2026, and the winners will be announced at the 2026 FoodTechShow event. Award-winning businesses will receive professional recognition, media exposure and promotional opportunities.
