Food and Agricultural World Forum in Budapest
Between 20 and 23 June the Food and Agricultural Forum will be held in Budapest – stated Gráf József Minister of Agriculture. The event is entitled: “Global Challenges and Local Responses”.
The international meeting and scientific symposium will be organised by International Food and Agricultural Economics Association (IAMA) with the help of Hungarian National Committee of the European Quality Organization, and with the support of the Ministry. Vajda László Head of Department and President of IAMA, said that the event is like the Davos World Economic Forum in agriculture. The message of this event is that the agricultural sector can be one of the way out points out of the global economic crisis. The consumption has not fallen back in this area and it is expected to increase due to the increasing of the population as well. Gráf József pointed out: The organising of the international agricultural forum is very important, because in this region, it will be the first time taking place such an event, which valorise the Central and Eastern European region. According to the Minister 400 participants will come to the conference from 52 countries. The participants will deal with eight key issues such as the Central European countries' replies to the global challenges, the role of trade within the food chain, as well as the influence of government policies on food and agricultural economies – reports ProfitLine.hu.
