Food VAT cut and new agricultural tax system?
In mid-March, the the possibility of reduced VAT on foodstuffs will be once again submitted to the government. Interdepartmental negotiations and product-level impact studies are being conducted in the case, so at the moment it is unclear which products may be in the scope of VAT reduced goods.
Of course it must be known that Brussels recommends no more than three VAT rates in a country: a normal (today it is 27 percent) and two reduced (18 percent and 5 percent). In other words, it is inconceivable that a new 12 percent VAT rate will be added beside the current VAT rates. (by our colleague)
