Office Depot trials electric vans in the UK
The battery-powered vehicle made by commercial electric vehicles manufacturer Smith’s Electrical will be used to transport Office Depot’s products to contract customers within central London.
The new electric van will travel
approximately 100 miles per day on a single charge, which will help
reduce the company’s carbon footprint through the removal of diesel
vehicles, reduce noise pollution due to a built-in silent engine and
reduce costs. The move is one of a number of environmental
initiatives in the UK which reflect Office Depot’s company-wide
vision to increasingly “buy green, be green and sell green”.
