Beer producers are satisfied with the turnover in the first half of the year
The beer producers are satisfied with the turnover of the first half of the year, although the sales in July were slightly more restrained – MTI quoted the statement of the director of the Association of Hungarian Brewers at the press conference of the Budapest Downtown Beer Festival on Wednesday.
The summer heat favored the beer industry, although they closed in July with a 13 percent lower turnover than in the same period of 2021. The data of the coming months will reveal whether there is another reason for the decrease in addition to the price increase – added director Sándor Kántor, emphasizing that domestic consumption in the first half of the year reached the level of 2019. At the same time, he believed that it is not certain that the turnover before the coronavirus epidemic will be achieved throughout the year.
It is regrettable that the proportion of hospitality fell in sales, from 30 percent to 16 percent as a result of the epidemic, and last year it only increased by 1-2 percentage points. Hospitality is slowly recovering, which is why events that promote beer not only as a product, but also create an atmosphere related to the consumption of draft beer are important.
