Corn crop will be enough
Despite the drought, the estimated 4 million tons of corn crop may be sufficient to satisfy the interior needs of the country – Czerván György told at Tuesday’s agricultural forum in Gödöllő.
The harvest of this important crop is in early stages, but it can be already seen that the per hectare average yield is estimated at 3.5-4 tons – the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture announced. Due to the adverse weather, dispersion is high: less than 3 tons per hectare in Tolna county, while more than twofold is expected, in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county. (MTI)
