Tengelmann Sells Plus Greece
Delhaize Group's bought all 33 Plus stores in Greece.
Delhaize Group's retail presence in Greece is through its majority ownership of Alfa-Beta Vassilopoulos S. A.. The combination of both companies that is still subject to antitrust approval, will result in a food retailer undertaking with EUR 1.1 billion in sales, 187 stores and approx. 7,700 employees. As part of the initiated strategic process the Tengelmann Group sold its Plus chain in Poland and Portugal too.
Delhaize Group owned in Hungary the Cora, Match, Smatch, Alfa and Profit store chains.
