Carlsberg Discussing Sale Of Turkish Unit
Carlsberg has revealed that it is in talks to sell its 95.65% stake in Turkish unit Turk Tuborg TBORG.IS to Israel-based Central Bottling Company Group (CBC).
The Danish brewer said in a statement
privately held CBC, its partner in Romania and Israel, had indicated
an interest in buying Carlsberg's stake and that a Memorandum of
Understanding had been signed. Details of the transaction are still
subject to discussion and final agreement, Carlsberg said, adding a
further announcement would be made in due course. Carlsberg gained a
majority share in Turk Tuborg in 2001. The brewery is Turkey's
second-largest with a market share of 16.5%.
