Nestle to Sell Buitoni Pasta Plant in Italy
The Swiss food giant would like the buyer to develop the plant and invest in advertising, but Nestlé would keep the brand ownership.
Buitoni is Nestlé's authentic Italian brand, which has been producing pasta and sauces in Italy since 1827. Buitoni became part of the Nestlé group in 1988. By licencing the Buitoni brand, Nestle would of course remain in the frozen foods and prepared dishes segments. The Sansepolcro plant employs 400 people and generates an annual turnover of approximately 100 million euro.
