Bananas with edible peel was developed in Japan
A Japanese farm developed bananas with edible peel. The proccess was to slowly cooling the growth cells of the fruit to minus 60 degrees and then thawing them.
The researchers suggest the consumers that they should consume bananas with the skin when brown spots appear on the fruit. Based on the experiences so far, the evaluators found the banana peel to be very thin and rated it as a similar consistency as the banana inside. (agrarszektor.hu)
