Egis Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and BME Faculty of Mechanical Engineering signed a cooperation agreement
Following its successful cooperation with the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering of BME, Egis Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is now entering into a closer professional relationship with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The aim of the agreement is to support the practical training of students, develop their practical competencies expected in the labor market, support promising students, and demonstrate the opportunities the pharmaceutical industry offers to talented young people with relevant technical qualifications.
The cooperation with Egis broadens the range of opportunities offered by the Department of Building Engineering and Mechanical Process Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of BME. The large company also contributes to the modernization of the training provided at the department. In addition to providing students with the opportunity for professional internships and factory visits, the pharmaceutical company also provides on-site training to students in several areas, from energy to chemical and pharmaceutical technology. These new opportunities will be available to students starting from the autumn semester, which is just starting.
“Egis Pharmaceuticals is a vertically integrated company, and our operations encompass all areas of the pharmaceutical value chain. That is, we develop and manufacture active ingredients and pharmaceutical products, and we also deliver our medicines to patients,” emphasized Csaba Poroszlai, CEO of Egis Pharmaceuticals Zrt. at the ceremonial signing of the cooperation agreement. “This in itself shows how broad a pool of experts we need, how diverse our knowledge is. In addition to manufacturing activities, we only need to think about the energy, material storage and transportation infrastructure that is essential for these, the strong instrumentation, and the increasingly automated, data-driven operation.”
Zsolt Fehérdi, Technical Director of Egis, said: they know from experience that a good impulse can have a decisive impact on a student’s life, even decide their entire career, if they receive a good impulse at a given moment, from the right place. “We would like to add our own to these impulses: on the one hand, to contribute to the modernization of the training at BME, and on the other hand, to show live some of the more interesting, special details of our work.”
