The Hungarian Logistics Association (MLE) and the Hungarian Procurement Community (HPC) have agreed to cooperate. The partnership aims to provide mutual support for each other’s activities and to strengthen the professional dialogue between logistics and procurement professionals in Hungary.

The agreement is based on the fact that procurement and logistics are two key areas of the supply chain that are closely linked in the everyday operations of companies. Procurement decisions have a significant impact on logistics processes, while the efficiency of logistics infrastructure and services fundamentally influences the success of procurement strategies. The two professional organizations have therefore decided to strengthen knowledge sharing and connections between professional communities through their cooperation. Within the framework of their partnership, the two organizations mutually support each other’s professional initiatives, events, programs and trainings. The aim is for the members, partners and participants of the organizations’ professional events to be able to build on an even broader knowledge and network of contacts in the future.

“Logistics and procurement are two defining areas of the supply chain, which complement each other and contribute to the efficient operation of companies. Our cooperation with the Hungarian Procurement Community provides an opportunity for the experiences and knowledge of the two professional communities to become closer, which can serve the further development of both parties in the long term”

– said Dr. Zoltán Doór, President of the Hungarian Logistics Association (MLE).

They have been supporting logistics in Hungary for almost 40 years

The Hungarian Logistics Association (MLE), founded in 1990, initially set itself the goal of sharing logistics knowledge and supporting the development of the profession. The core elements of its activities are education, Higher Level Logistics Manager training and professional training, which are very popular both in person and online throughout the country. The Association also plays a significant scientific role: for several decades, the Logistics Yearbook has been published annually under its care, which is a prominent collection of professional studies in the domestic logistics sector. Studies published in the “A” category publication also receive a DOI number, thus supporting scientific life and professional training. MLE also regularly organizes professional events, and its work and brand have been awarded several Business Superbrands and MagyarBrands awards.

More than half a thousand members in less than 2 years

The Hungarian Procurement Community (HPC), i.e. the Hungarian Procurement Association (MBK), founded in 2025, is one of the most dynamically developing professional communities in the procurement profession in Hungary. The organization aims to strengthen knowledge sharing among procurement professionals and increase the prestige of the profession. The community has grown to more than half a thousand members in less than two years and regularly organizes professional events, workshops and networking programs for professionals working in the field of procurement and supply chain. The Hungarian Procurement Community actively represents this approach in practice: the community annually presents the Sustainable Procurement Award, as well as awards for excellence in procurement (e.g. Procurement Manager of the Year), with which it recognizes the outstanding performance of procurement professionals. It also operates a mentoring program to support professional development and recruitment. The HPC also organizes one of the largest events of the domestic procurement community, the Procurement Bar, which has now become a defining meeting point for the profession.

“Procurement and logistics are mutually reinforcing areas that can work together effectively in the supply chain. The cooperation with the Hungarian Logistics Association provides an opportunity for the two professional communities to come closer to each other and to jointly support the achievement of each other’s goals and the professional development of our members and partners”

– emphasized György Südy, President of the Hungarian Procurement Community (HPC).

According to the two organizations, the cooperation can also contribute to the role of the logistics and procurement profession becoming even more prominent in the economy. Their common goal is to achieve a greater impact in the development of domestic professional communities by strengthening professional dialogue and supporting each other’s initiatives.
