dm is launching an international initiative called Together for the Future, which draws attention to the possibilities of social participation. In addition to giving space to individual examples, the drugstore will also be launching a call for applications for civil society organizations from March: they will support projects that respond to current social or environmental challenges, while enabling individuals to take an active role through volunteer opportunities.

The challenges of today can reinforce in many people the feeling that they have little influence on the future. In response to this, the drugstore is launching an international initiative to be implemented in 12 dm countries: the Together for the Future program draws attention to the possibilities of social participation, inspires others to volunteer with positive individual examples, and supports civil society projects with a call for applications. The dm initiative runs on two threads: on the one hand, individuals are invited to show stories based on volunteer work and social commitment, and on the other hand, a call for applications is issued for non-profit organizations providing financial support. The choice of topic is not without precedent, and volunteer work has a long tradition at dm: for more than 10 years, colleagues have had the opportunity to spend one of their working days volunteering at a non-profit organization of their choice. In the individual category, the audience can also encounter inspiring stories from dm employees.

Inspiring with individual positive examples

With the call for individuals, dm is looking for personal initiatives and positive examples that show how we can work to positively shape the future in our immediate environment, within our own scope, on a voluntary basis. In addition to the social benefit, the activity also affects the personal well-being of the volunteer, increases self-esteem, reduces stress, enables new social relationships, and provides an opportunity for personal development. Applicants are asked to briefly present their volunteering activities through the form for individuals on the www.dm-egyuttajovoert.hu page, and thus inspire others. Participants will also be entered into a prize draw.

50 million forints will be distributed to support civic initiatives

In addition to presenting individual actions, dm is announcing a call for applications for Hungarian non-profit organizations to support projects that respond to current social and/or environmental challenges while enabling individuals to get involved through volunteer work. You can apply for the competition from 2026.03.01 to 2026.07.17 by filling out the application form on the www.dm-egyuttajovoert.hu page.

The competition organiser will distribute a total of 50,000,000 HUF non-refundable grant in three categories, between a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12 winning applicants. The applications will be judged by the dm, the competition organiser, Civil Impact Nonprofit Kft., and a three-member jury. As members of the jury, actor Miklós H. Vecsei, founder of the POKET community, writer and journalist Hesna Al Ghaoui, and comedian Gergely Litkai, a committed advocate for environmental issues, will help evaluate the applications.

Related communities, equal opportunities and environmental protection

The aim of the application program is to support initiatives that strengthen individual and community capacity for action and promote active social participation. The application aims to support forward-looking initiatives in three categories.

In the first category, initiatives that help related communities are expected, which emphasize strengthening community cooperation and solidarity.

In the second category, projects that help create opportunities and social dialogue are expected, which strengthen integration and equal opportunities, or support thinking free from prejudices.

In the third category, the focus is on initiatives that respond to challenges in various areas of the environmental crisis and demonstrate what specific steps individuals can take within their own sphere of influence.

The detailed call for applications is available on the dm-egyuttajovoert.hu page.
