Together for good causes: JYSK distributed product donations worth a total of 1 million forints among 5 civil organizations

JYSK Hungary Kft. and Sharity Mobile Application Zrt. launched a joint Christmas competition in December to provide assistance to various civil society organizations. The aim of the initiative was to involve customers and the public in the decision-making process, as the 5 winning organizations were selected based on their votes. JYSK, which is known for its emphasis on social responsibility, distributed a total of 1 million forints worth of product donations among the winners as part of its Otthont Teremtünk Donation Program, which was presented to the winners in a ceremony on January 9.

The aim of the December initiative was for JYSK and Sharity Zrt. to involve civil society organizations and customers in the JYSK Christmas and New Year campaign, which was launched as part of their Otthont Teremtünk Donation Program, thus strengthening JYSK’s approach to helping the communities where they are present through their business activities.

The customer-voted competition was held between December 2 and December 31, 2024, where customers could vote via the Sharity App or the website for which organizations would receive JYSK product donations. Valid votes could be cast once a day by watching a video published on Sharity platforms and approved by JYSK.

A total of 14 organizations applied for the competition, of which the 5 most voted collectors distributed the product donation worth a total of 1 million forints.

Based on the customer votes, the first place went to the Hungarian National Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, so they won the main prize, a JYSK product offering worth a gross of HUF 300,000. The second place prize, a donation worth a gross of HUF 250,000, was received by the Zala County Branch of the Hungarian Red Cross. The New Vision – Buda Area Association of the Visually Impaired came in 3rd place, winning a gross product donation of HUF 200,000. Finally, the Világfa Waldorf Non-Profit and the ELTE TÓK Tradition Preservation Foundations won 4th and 5th places, with a gross donation of HUF 150,000 and HUF 100,000, respectively.
