Disposable cup lobby
After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, it became clear that there would not be enough raw materials in Europe to produce completely plastic-free, single-use drinking glasses, so the relevant regulations would not be complied with.
From the spring of 2022, VIMOSZ together with its partner unions notified the relevant ministry of this, and after data collection and fact-finding, two meaningful discussions took place with the relevant state secretary. With his help, the decree on postponing the entry into force deadline was created.
However, all of this was only published on December 30 due to the reorganization of the ministries’ agreement for the beginning of autumn: Decree No. 636/2022 on the restriction of the placing on the market of certain single-use and certain other plastic products. (XII. 30.) Government decree can be read on page 11688 of issue 223 of the Magyar Közlöny.
