Lidl has issued a common international fruit and vegetable procurement policy
On 1 February 2018 Lidl Hungary officially introduces the discount supermarket chain’s standardised international rules of fruit and vegetable purchasing. Lidl is present in 29 countries and the sourcing rules regulate the production and supplying of fruits and vegetables, guaranteeing that the process is transparent and sustainable. Head of company communication Judit Tőzsér told: in Hungary Lidl purchases 67,000 tons of produce from local farmers and the company has already been complying with the so-called Global G.A.P. standards since 1 January 2017. //
