More and more people are using the eVAT system
The use of the eVAT system, with which it is possible to declare monthly and quarterly VAT “live” from January 1, is showing a continuous increase – the State Secretary responsible for tax affairs of the Ministry of Finance informed MTI.
Norbert Izer emphasized: this option also reduces administrative burdens and whitens the economy, which is one of the main goals of government measures.
More than 60,000 taxpayers were registered in the VAT system until June 20 this year, and the interface was accessed more than 195,000 times. Since its launch on January 1, 6,128 returns have been received through the system to the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV). The increase in the number of users of the eVAT system shows a positive trend, he pointed out.
According to the State Secretary, the NAV is constantly working on fine-tuning the system and developing it with new functions, among which it should be highlighted that on July 1, 2024, self-checking will also be possible within the framework of the VAT system. With this, NAV is also trying to make the eÁFA web interface easier and more user-friendly, he added.
