We take digital payment solutions more and more naturally
Alternatives to cash are not only popular, but users increasingly see them as part of everyday life. Based on the results of OTP Mobil’s recent representative survey examining payment habits, 62 percent of respondents consider bank card payment to be the easiest solution when paying on-site, and nearly a third of those who prefer cash payment also stated that they would like to switch to a card in the future.
59 percent of the Hungarian population over the age of 18 pay in stores most of the time with a bank card, only 30 percent prefer cash, according to a recent survey commissioned by OTP Mobil.
Among those who prefer paying with a bank card or smart device, the majority (48 percent) justified their decision by saying that they do not have or do not want to have cash with them. According to 23 percent of them, they can track their expenses better this way, and 14 percent believe that this is a safer form of shopping.
The research also highlights that nearly two-thirds of the population (62 percent) believe that bank card payment is the easiest on-site payment method, and its further growth is predicted by the fact that 28 percent of those who prefer cash payment plan to change their payment habits in the future – in favor of card payment. Their main motivation for this is that they think it is easier to pay with a bank card or smart device.
