Extras are becoming increasingly popular with home insurance
Additional coverages are becoming increasingly popular in home insurance. Among the most popular are, for example, insurance against flooding or the so-called home service, which provides quick assistance in the event of a problem, K&H announced. According to the financial institution’s experience, the rapid spread of digitalization is also clearly visible.
In the case of home insurance, protection against specific damage events is increasingly coming to the fore, showing that customers are looking for more personalized insurance solutions, K&H announced.
Among the most popular additional coverages are burglary, flooding, whether it is a damage event due to a roof, a panel gap or a door or window left open. Many people also request the so-called home service service in their home insurance contract. “The latter is particularly useful, as the insurer undertakes to organise a specialist, for example, to clear blockages or in the event of other home emergencies, essentially providing customers with 24-hour protection. In addition, supplements for damage caused by overvoltage, pollution caused by smoke and soot, and accident insurance are also popular. The convenience package is also attractive to many customers, which includes services such as document replacement, lock replacement, compensation for damage due to spoilage of frozen food, or even the extermination of wasp nests,” said Székely Pálma, head of K&H’s sales and life insurance business.
