Flexitarian nutrition is becoming more and more popular
Paying attention to the topics of sustainability and plant-based nutrition, the first flexitarian conference will be organized on November 17 at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen, which is specifically aimed at university students. The basis of the event, realized in collaboration with the University and Danone Hungary, was the food company’s survey this year, according to which Generation Z is increasingly open to a diet that includes plant alternatives, and this is often reflected in their shopping habits. Many of them choose the brands whose products they add to their shopping cart with sustainability in mind, and this conscious choice for most of them takes place not only with the effects of a plant-based diet on health and the planet, but also with animal welfare aspects in mind.
Although the program of the November Flexi Forum is primarily aimed at these young people, the organizers welcome all interested parties, entry is free, but registration is required. In addition to many exciting activities, the audience can also participate in professional seminars and workshops at the event, and the program can also be followed online if someone cannot attend in person.
The event is preceded by a call for applications, which is announced at all Hungarian universities where marketing is taught. Entrants can choose between two tasks, one with a communication campaign aimed at promoting plant-based diets among young people and/or one with a commercial aimed at the X-Y generation, about the importance of plant-based eating. The results announcement and award ceremony will be the last program element of the Flexi Forum in Debrecen.
The organizer of the event is Danone Magyarország Kft., the main sponsor and the judges of the applications are Alpro and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen.
