China catching up when it comes to telecommunication
The value of the Chinese brands continues to grow rapidly. The rankings are still dominated by state-owned companies, while private companies show a quick pick up – the report on the 100 most valuable Chinese brands shows.
The annual study of the Millward Brown research firm and the WPP media agency was based on the performance of the Chinese companies and on the preference of more than 400 thousand consumers.
The most valuable brand – as well as in recent years – is the telecommunications giant; the China Mobile, with a value of 61.4 billion USD. The second most valuable is the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China ( ICBC ), that is present in several European countries. It is a surprise that the third place was gained by a private company the Tencent, which is the world’s fourth largest Internet company. (Szerencsi Ágnes, MTI)
