Fund of one million euros for the treatment of the milk scandal
One million euro fund has been established for the treatment of the situation that has developed in Carinthia around the milk that is containing carcinogens – the provincial government told on Tuesday.
The money will be served to finance the monitoring of the ground, the examination of the meat and feed, as well as health screenings will be funded, and will also help the affected Görtsczitzal town and its surroundings to deal with the crisis.
Recently, higher proportion of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) compound was found in Carinthian dairy products than it is allowed. The Austrian Chamber of Agriculture staff inspected the farms and the feed there. Already nearly 600 tons of feed has been destroyed in the province. (MTI)
