Procter & Gamble's one million USD donation
The company gives free tetanus vaccines to poor kids in Africa. The face of the campaign is Salma Hayek.
Salma Hayek, the actress who herself became a mother last year, signed on as a spokeswoman for the "One Pack, One Vaccine" program, in which Procter is donating five cents toward the cost of a vaccine for every pack of Pampers Swaddlers, Swaddlers Sensitive, Cruisers or Easy Ups diapers and several varieties of Pampers brand baby wipes it sells in the U.S.The company expects to donate more than $1 million, at a rate of five cents per Pampers product sold, during the program's run from April 1 through June 30. P&G says its goal is to provide about 27 million vaccines.
