More than a billion people travels abroad this year

According to the forecast of  the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), this year the number of those who visit an another country as tourists will be over one billion

In the first six months of this year, the number of tourists amounted to 467 million, which is 5 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year – said Taleb Rifai, UNWTO’s Secretary-General, adding that they expect a 4 percent growth annually.
The organization's report revealed that last year 990 million people hit the road, due to tourism purposes, generating revenue of 1.2 trillion USD. Calculating with a four percent growth this year, 1.03 billion tourists are expected worldwide. (MTI, Világgazdaság Online)
