One-third less barley and peas are expected
The barley and pea crops may be reduced by one-third as the result of the long winter, while the sown area of corn may be 5 percent less nationwide – Tóth István, Secretary of the Agricultural Cooperators and Producers' Association (MOSZ) told.
Spring came in a two to three weeks late. The sowing was delayed for weeks, due to the lots of rainfall and the March cold in case of certain crops. In case of spring barley and peas only two-third was succesfully sowed of the originally planned amount, the rest probably can not be replaced – the Secretary of MOSZ told. (B.
