Melon market participants consult in the ministry
Local watermelon producers and multinational chain of stores are consulting in the Rural Development Ministry (VM) on Friday, on creating balanced melon market conditions – informs Simonka György, President of the Hungarian Watermelon Association, Member of Parliament MTI on Thursday. Budai Gyula, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development will take part at the meeting as well.
Simonka György added that they plan to drive out the non-registered traders of the watermelon market with greater controls and make a deal with the stores to give preference to the domestically produced watermelons and melons. They want to achieve not to decrease the promotional rates under an agreed limit. (MTI)
