Same career opportunities, similar chances?
In Hungary 50 percent of women say that men and women have equal chances for realising their career goals – revealed a survey by Ipsos, conducted in 23 countries with more than 17,000 participants. 83 percent of respondents said the performance of men and women is judged the same way, but 16 percent opined that it isn’t skills and expertise that matter but being a man or a woman. As regards social, political and economic rights, two thirds of respondents see a level playing field for men and women. The international average is that 60 percent of women feel they have the same chances as men to realise their professional dreams. Also at international level 90 percent said that men and women have the same career opportunities and similar chances to achieve their goals (in Hungary 80 percent of men and 86 percent of women said that only skills and expertise matter, not one’s sex).
