Meki customers can help with unique fashion accessories
Charity gloves modeled after the legendary Mekis fries are now available in all McDonald’s restaurants in the country. The domestic restaurant chain donated the entire net sales revenue from the trendy fashion accessories to the support of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Aid Foundation, so that next year, nearly a thousand children receiving hospital care and their families will be able to provide homely conditions near the hospitals free of charge.
In the campaign announced until November 27, the entire net sales revenue from the sale of Mekis gloves purchased for HUF 1,270, HUF 1,000 per glove, supports the Foundation, which has been operating since 1994. From this, in Budapest, Miskolc and Debrecen, they provide homely conditions free of charge for parents whose sick child undergoes prolonged hospital treatment far from their place of residence. So far, nearly 30 influencers have joined the promotion of the charity campaign.
The Ronald McDonald Children’s Aid Foundation works in close cooperation with more than 25 hospital departments across the country. Nearly 1,000 families have been able to stay in the 22 apartments of Ronald Házak in Budapest and 12 in Miskolc, located in the immediate vicinity of the children’s hospitals, as well as in the 2 Ronald Rooms in the building of the Pécs children’s clinic. In addition, more than 500 families were able to relax and recharge in between treatments in the Family Center for daytime stays, which was handed over last year and was set up in the attic of the Debrecen hospital. During its nearly three decades of operation, the Foundation has ensured that more than 14,000 families can stay together during a difficult and trying period.
