This year, for the 16th time, the Autistic Art Foundation’s Charity Auction was held, where autism and art are intertwined year after year. At the auction on October 7, works that were created from the drawings of young people with autism went under the hammer. At this year’s auction, a JYSK table also found an owner, the revival of which praises the graphic work of Tibor Petényi, based on the work of Kristóf Réti, a young man living with autism. The foundation will use the proceeds of the auction to support 12 civilian-run autistic residential homes.

On October 7, at the Eiffel Workshop, the 210 guests who participated in the Autistic Art Foundation’s Charity Auction had another special experience. This is the 16th time that autism has been intertwined with art at the organization’s auction.

This year, 113 items went under the hammer at the charity auction: from unique jewelry, through clothes and bags, to design objects. The creations are thanks to designers such as Klára Abaffy, Katalin Jermakov, Viktória Varga, and Anna Hodlik. The special feature of the works of contemporary Hungarian jewelers and designers is that only one piece of each was made specifically for the auction. For their creations, the designers were inspired by the graphics of autistic young people, which were made during drawing classes supported by the Autistic Art Foundation.

The evening of the auction ended with a grant of HUF 84 million, the entire amount of which the foundation helps autistic-friendly residential homes.
