If you are a producer or a trader, you know exactly what it is like to pre-finance the production, purchase, storage and any associated costs of the product. Well, so are the cheese makers in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, who make one of the most famous cheeses in the world – origo wrote after Roadster.hu.

Although the story goes back much further – allegedly by the bankers of the Medici dynasty in the 15th century – it is still thanks to them that, in addition to the “field” banks, a financial institution – Credito Emiliano – operates in Italy they have the opportunity to give cheese as collateral.
