Another price cut at ALDI within a month
ALDI is benefiting Hungarian customers with another price reduction. It will reduce the prices of 53 types of milk and dairy products from January 8, 2026, by an average of more than 7%.
In many European countries, including Hungary, the price of dairy products in the processing industry has decreased, so ALDI has achieved lower purchase prices. The supermarket chain – as it has done so far – is now passing on the achieved price advantage to its customers. Starting January 8, the price of 53 popular milk and dairy products will be reduced by an average of more than 7%. The list of products, mostly from domestic sources, includes 15 types of ESL and UHT milk, 13 types of cheese – eight of which are Trappist, the most popular among Hungarian shoppers –, 7 types of sour cream, 5 types of butter and 4 types of cottage cheese. Almost all of the dairy products most often found in the basket of Hungarian shoppers are affected by the price reduction. The largest price reduction occurs for 100-gram tea butter with an 82% fat content, which costs 30% less than before, but the prices of seven other products have also fallen by double digits. The price of 175 grams of 20% fat sour cream has decreased by 16%, 400 grams of Emmental cheese costs 230 forints less, and the price of Trappist cheese in kilo packages has also decreased by 11%. Among milks, the price of 1.5% fat UHT milk has decreased by 8, while the price of 2.8% fat ESL milk has decreased by 13%. Thanks to the new measure, people with food intolerances can also access key lactose-free dairy products at a lower price.

“We are still keeping ALDI’s basic principle in mind: as soon as we achieve lower purchase prices, we pass on the achieved price advantage to our consumer prices. From January 8, Hungarian families and households will be able to access the most popular, quality dairy products purchased every day at a more favorable price than before. Our new price reduction is valid nationwide, in all our stores.”
– said Bernhard Haider, National Managing Director of ALDI Hungary.
