A “Bite” of the Middle East: FANAN hummus in new packaging and 2 new flavors!
Bezula Kft., the domestic manufacturer of popular hummus spreads, has come up with a new product called FANAN Falat. Based on a traditional Middle Eastern recipe, the chickpea spreads made in Hungary have so far been available in the standard 250-gram and 500-gram family packages, available in 6 flavors, and now the 100-gram FANAN Falat has also joined the range. The novelty, tailored for one person and one meal, may be a favorite of many in the hummus market, which is also booming according to statistics.
The popular natural version will of course also be available in 100-gram boxes, and two new flavors will also debut on the FANAN range. The roasted paprika Falat combines the cult ingredient of Balkan and Mediterranean gastronomy with the cornerstone of Middle Eastern cuisine, simultaneously lending a sweet, sour and smoky taste experience to the already well-known, silky chickpea cream. The lemon-cumin Falat, which may be even bolder at first glance, brings something completely new to the Hungarian hummus map with its fresh and softly bitter aroma.
“We always pay attention to market trends and consumer feedback, and from these we saw that many people are looking for a smaller, all-in-one, plant-based delicacy that can be consumed at once, which can be the ideal element of a light, nutritious breakfast, lunch or snack. We invented the FANAN Snack for them, which is made from the premium quality ingredients we are used to, gluten and lactose free, and is also vegan, so it can be easily integrated into the health and environmentally conscious diets that are being followed by more and more people,”
– said Dror Yefet, owner and CEO of Bezula Kft.
The company manager’s words are also supported by statistics, as according to analyst forecasts, the demand for hummus is expected to grow by an average of more than 8% per year in Europe over the next 5 years, and the total turnover of the products could thus reach double the volume of 2022 by 2030. Behind the trend is the accelerating rise of vegan and flexitarian diets (which occasionally consume animal products), which are driven by the search for healthier alternatives as well as environmental concerns surrounding meat consumption. All this is also sharply increasing the demand for hummus, an excellent source of plant-based protein, in our country, which can be seen on supermarket shelves and in shopping carts.
