Economic sentiment index in the euro area stagnates at a one-year low

Economic sentiment in the eurozone stagnates
The euro area economic sentiment indicator (ESI) remained broadly unchanged in May, rising 105.0 points from a downward adjustment of 104.9 in April. The market expected 104.9 points for May.
Overall business confidence at a low level not seen for a year has stagnated as high inflation and the war in Ukraine continue to worsen the sentiment. (MTI)
