A cup of flour, half a cup of sugar and even smaller American cooking measures – Picture of the day

American recipes are based on the cups – tablespoons – teaspoons system (i.e. cups /240 ml/ – tablespoons /≈ 15 ml/ – teaspoons /≈ 5 ml/). We can’t even imagine how they measure half and quarter cups, but it’s easier for them if they have a tool made specifically for that.
