Minor burns because of Starbucks mugs
Starbucks is voluntarily recalling an estimated 167,000 of its Fusion Coffee Mugs because they may pose a minor hazard to users.
According to Starbucks and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the
plastic handles on the cups could break off while the cup is filled with hot
liquid, posing a minor burn hazard to consumers. There have been 23
reports of the handles detaching, including nine that resulted in minor burns.
The mugs were sold nationwide between February and November of this
year. They are white with a black plastic handles and a stainless steel
base.The mugs sold for t about $11. Consumers should stop using the mugs
immediately and contact Starbucks for instructions on returning the cups for a full
refund. Starbucks is also offering a free beverage as an incentive to
return the recalled mugs.
