So far, four billion – IT project of Coop reached mid-term
The introduction of Coop food commercial network's integrated IT system reached its turning point. The newest store, which is the five-hundredth unit of the Co-op Star Ltd. had been attached to the network yesterday.
Murányi László, Chief Executive Officer of Co-op Hungary Ltd. told on this occasion, that since 2002, the company has invested 4 billion forints into the project. The goal is to operate computer systems in Coop shops which can support consumer choices and combine retail electronic databases, and give immediately available data for the group's marketing activities and evolving discount actions.The project continues and until 2012, about 1200-1300 units will be linked into the system, with a total investment cost of 8 billion HUF.
